Puppy Mill Survivor

“Shayna” - 4 years, American Eskimo/Samoyed

I was rescued from a Washington, Missouri puppy mill on July 4th, 2005 by the American Eskimo Rescue Group of St. Louis, I was about 18 months old at the time I was rescued and I'd already been giving birth to puppies at the mill.  The conditions I lived in were deplorable and I had absolutely no human social skills.  My diet consisted solely of oatmeal.

On September 12th, 2005, I found my forever home. I was adopted by a family who was looking to adopt a companion for their Siberian Huskey. They reviewed photos on Petfinder.com, and my future mom took one look at my picture and absolutely fell in love with me. I have 2 four-legged brothers, a two-legged brother and a Mom and Dad who love me more and more every day. At the time of my adoption, I wanted nothing to do with people, but now... I am a little love muffin. I am now much more comfortable with people and want attention from anyone entering the house!
