The work of the Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation is funded entirely by donations. Your donations directly support our legislative efforts as well as outreach and education, all of which are costly for a non-profit organization. Because the Alliance lobbies the government on a full time basis, donations are not tax deductible - but they ARE crucial in helping us maintain a vital presence at the state capitol. When you help fund our work, you are helping us to promote humane legislation and advocate for Missouri's animals.
Leaving money to the Alliance through your will or trust is a profound way to create a legacy of compassion and ensure positive change for animals. An even easier way is to name the Alliance as the beneficiary of an IRA or other retirement plan. In any event, we are grateful to be considered as a beneficiary of your overall estate plans.
Choosing to honor a pet with a donation to the Alliance helps to support animal welfare. You can do so online.
The Alliance can also accept stocks, bonds & mutual funds into its brokerage account.
For a tax-deductible contribution, a donor needs to have owned an appreciated security for 12 months to obtain a tax deduction for a contribution. However, since contributions to The Alliance are not tax deductible, the 12-month ownership requirement is unnecessary.
To transfer securities directly to our Schwab account, let your brokerage firm know the Schwab DTC number is 0164. Transfers should be further credited to account # 7724-8112.
If you have a security which is in a loss position, you should likely sell the security to take a tax loss and donate the proceeds.
